| Nicky Wichmann arbeitet im Headshop mit dem wahrscheinlich politischsten Schaufenster und dem größten Hund auf der Meile. Doch Rüdiger, der irische Wolfhound, hat eine sensible Seele und muss deshalb „leider draussen bleiben“, wenn wir uns über ihn, den Kiez, Rauchgeräte, Grauzonen, Kundschaft und das Alltagsleben unterhalten. Marily Stroux hatte schon als Pfadfinderin (Foto) den Spott im Nacken. Sie kam als Olympic-Stewardess nach Hamburg, begann hier politisch zu fotografieren (panfoto, Hafenstrasse, Park Fiction), gründete 1997 auf der documenta X „kein mensch ist illegal“ mit und wurde, verbotenerweise, 32 Jahre lang vom Verfassungsschutz beobachtet. Gerade hat sie, in einem künstlerisch hoch-interessanten Schritt, persönliche Zeichnungen mit erzählten Mythen und Erinnerungen von Parwana Amiri zu einer partizipativen Dokumentation verwoben: „The Olive Tree and the Old Woman“. Seit über 20 Jahren sind in vielen Strassen St. Paulis unter verschiedenen Etiketten („Gefahrengebiet“, „Gefährlicher Ort“) die Grundrechte eingeschränkt. Aber ist das Viertel nicht längst eine „gefährdete Nachbarschaft“? Unsere Mittwöchentliche Talkreihe im Barboncino (oben auf dem Pudel) entführt das Narrativ vom „Gefährlichen Ort“ auf einen Umweg zu etwas Besserem: Zu Treffen mit neuen Leuten und abweichenden Lebensstilen, zu Austausch und kalten Getränken vor nächtlichen Hafenlichtern. | Nicky Wichmann works in the head shop with probably the most political shop window and the biggest dog on the Mile. But Rudolf, the Scottish Deerhound, has a sensitive soul and therefore „unfortunately has to stay outside“ when we talk about him, the neighbourhood, smoking devices, grey areas, customers and everyday life. Marily Stroux already had ridicule on her neck as a girl scout (photo). She came to Hamburg as an Olympic stewardess, began taking political photographs here (panfoto, Hafenstrasse, Park Fiction), co-founded „kein mensch ist illegal“ (No one is illegal) at documenta X in 1997 and was, forbiddenly, observed by the Verfassungsschutz for 32 years. In an artistically highly interesting move, she has just interwoven personal drawings with narrated myths and memories of Parwana Amiri to create a participatory documentary: „The Olive Tree and the Old Woman“. For over 20 years, basic rights have been restricted in many streets of St. Pauli under various labels („Dangerous Area“, „Dangerous Place“). But hasn’t the neighbourhood long become an „endangered neighbourhood“? Our midweek talk series at Barboncino (top of the Pudel) takes the narrative of the „dangerous place“ on a detour to something better: Meeting new people and divergent lifestyles, sharing and cold drinks in front of the nightly harbour lights.
