Die Stigmatisierung St. Paulis als Gefährlicher Ort hat reale Folgen. Darüber sprechen wir mit Julian vom Fanladen St. Pauli. Auch wegen des letzten Derbys, das überschattet wurde von exzessiver Polizeigewalt. Für Fans kam das nicht überraschend, denn gegenüber Fussballfans wird fast regelmässig erprobt, wie weit man in Sachen Polizeigewalt (aber auch bei der Einschränkung der Grundrechte) gehen kann.
Asmara hat mit ihren engsten Freund*innen einen Verein zur Unterstützung von Refugees gegründet, der humanitäre Hilfe, das Politische & das Persönliche nicht brav auseinanderhält. Als sie von den Schwierigkeiten der People of Colour im Ukrainisch-Polnischen Grenzgebiet hörten, mieteten Asmara’s World kurzerhand Busse und machten sich mit Verbündeten auf den Weg.

Seit über 20 Jahren sind in vielen Strassen St. Paulis unter verschiedenen Etiketten („Gefahrengebiet“, „Gefährlicher Ort“) die Grundrechte eingeschränkt.
Unsere Mittwöchentliche Talkreihe im Barboncino (oben auf dem Pudel) entführt das Narrativ vom „Gefährlichen Ort“ auf einen Umweg zu etwas Besserem: Zu Treffen mit neuen Leuten und abweichenden Lebensstilen, zu Austausch und kalten Getränken vor nächtlichen Hafenlichtern, zu Musik aufgelegt von DJ TALLY.

The stigmatisation of St. Pauli as a dangerous place has real consequences.
We talk about this with Julian from the Fanladen St. Pauli. Also because of the last derby, which was overshadowed by excessive police violence. For fans, this did not come as a surprise, because it is almost regularly tested against football fans how far one can go in terms of police violence (but also in restricting basic rights).
Asmara with her closest friends founded an association to support refugees, which does not dutifully separate humanitarian aid, the political & the personal.
When they heard about the difficulties of the People of Colour in the Ukrainian-Polish border area, Asmara’s World hired buses and set off with allies.

For over 20 years, basic rights have been restricted in many streets of St. Pauli under various labels („danger area“, „dangerous place“).
Our midweek talk series at Barboncino (top of the Pudel) takes the narrative of the „Dangerous Place“ on a diversion to something better: To meetings with new people and divergent lifestyles, to exchanges and cold drinks in front of nightly harbour lights, to music put on by DJ TALLY.
